It's true that many websites use a lot of visual elements to attract attention. If you want to sell something design is number one. Marketing second. However, I've intentionally chosen a different approach for LinSublim.
My primary focus is to create a calming and supportive online environment that reflects the essence of somatic practice. A clean, uncluttered design helps to minimize distractions and allows users to focus on what truly matters: practicing the somatic neuromuscular programming exercises, learning about somatics, exploring the resources, and connecting with the community.
Furthermore, I want to ensure the website is accessible to everyone, including those with visual or cognitive impairments. Excessive animations and complex visuals can sometimes create barriers to accessibility. I also want to make sure that you don\t need a supercomputer to access this website, and that the resources used are minimal.
While I believe in the power of visuals, I also believe that content is king. The true value of LinSublim lies in the actual audio lessons, the information, guidance, and support it provides, not in flashy animations or vibrant colors.
That being said, I'm always open to exploring ways to enhance the website's aesthetic appeal and user experience. I may incorporate videos or other multimedia elements strategically in the future to complement the written content and provide additional learning opportunities.
I don't want to build a flashy app which has no value, the core value are the online lessons!
Ultimately, my goal is to create a website that serves the needs of the LinSublim community and supports their journey towards greater well-being.
